Ultra lightweight new EBC X series floating
front rotors for sportbikes and road racers are now available.
These rotors
are equipped with the NEW EBC PATENTED S-DRIVE SYSTEM |
For over 30 years EBC has been
the number one in brake pads and these new XC Contour rotors stake the
EBC claim to the rotor market leadership. Suitable for road or track. |
|
The new rotors
feature EBC's unique and patented S-Drive button system which features
square sided rivets captured in square drive pockets on the rotor and
hub which allow the outer rotor blade to expand and contract freely
under the heat of braking without suffering rivet lock.
Rivet lock is
the term used when rotors heat up under heavy braking and the rotor
blade contacts the (normally circular) rivets that separate the inner
rotor hub and the outer rotor blade. The new EBC system completely
eliminates this problem area which causes 100% of the failures of
rotors suffering from distortion and brake vibration.
Stainless steel rear rotors are available in full circle and
Contour style to match, suitable for performance road and race use
with new lightweight hole pattern construction.

EBC ProLite XC
contour rotors are the toughest and yet the lightest sport and race
brake rotors you can put on your bikes for many reasons and here is
why these are best.
1) Contoured profile reduces
weight by 7.5% without reducing actual “cooling mass” of disc.
2) New German mill rolled heat treated stainless steel rotor blade.
3) Vertical scraper slot system removes dirt, dust and debris quickly
from braking area.
4) Unique fully overlapping vent hole pattern reduces weight, cleans
disc blade and helps deglaze pads.
5) New Patented Stainless Steel SD (square drive) button drive system,
prevent warping and vibration totally system – click here for full
tech info.
6) Ultra lightweight ductile alloy centre hub.
7)Use of SD system allows less drive buttons, in the case of EBC we
are down to six buttons
8) Full stainless components, no rusty parts and that’s guaranteed. |

Made in Bristol, England, the EBC Kevlar® series has now been renamed NAO
series or Non-Asbestos Organic, although they still use the famous Dupont
Kevlar® fibre in conjunction with other high tech fibres that have come on
the market. The NAO series are a superb all round value-for-money
replacement for all levels of motorcycle and are still extremely popular
with many riders who prefer the "feel" of organic pads.
NAO series are fully TUV tested and KBA certified and conform to the new ECE
R90 brake regulations which are about to storm the European market. EBC is
at the forefront of this technology and will be the first on the market to
offer Reg. 90 approved pads and packaging. Most EBC organic pads have
expansion grooves which reduce noise and prevent cracking. The aramid fibre
compound with non-ferrous particles helps to prevent surface "scorching"
under load.
Organic
pads have attracted many enthusiasts because of the way they work. They are
inherently “Softer” easier on rotors and have a brake “feel” preferred by
many riders.
|
These
pads benefit from the highest friction HH rating for maximum stopping power,
made from sintered copper alloy like original pads for longer life and
perfect braking under all riding conditions, wet, dry, hot or cold. When
required, unique stainless steel radiator plates are fitted to reduce heat
transer into bikes hydraulics. The unique double segment vented design keeps
the pads cooler and prevents pad drag and overheat or fade.
When EBC broke into the sintered pad market, it really did its homework. We
took all the current market offerings, tested them, analysed them and beat
them. We removed the iron powders commonly used in many sintered pads that
cause the pad to "weld" to the disc under corrosion when the bike is parked
and replaced it with stainless powder.
After five years and millions of sets sold
EBC upgraded the formulation again to SB101C material which completely
eliminated BRAKE NOISE, improved the pads HEAT CYCLING CAPABILITY and
improved feel. What you have today for the faster rider is the pinnacle of
sintered copper alloy engineering, researched and tested by engineers with
over 50 years experience in sintered pad technology. |
